Mourant Ozannes - Office Furniture

We won a competitive tender to fit out Mourant Ozannes' prestigious new offices in Royal Chambers and provided a furniture solution, which over the course of a year, allows Mourant Ozannes staff to burn calories equivalent to running 10 marathons!

In the summer of 2017 we were invited by the client’s architect (Axis Mason) to take part in a competitive tender exercise for Mourant Ozannes' new offices, which would require 185 new workstations and over 300 storage cabinets. After a detailed selection processes, we were shortlisted and invited to set up mock-ups of our proposed furniture solutions for the client to evaluate.

Techo’s Lift electronic sit/stand workstations were selected for their quiet electronic adjustability, quality specification of materials and flexible customisation. A specific requirement from the client’s IT team was for the workstations to have an integrated cable management solution, so we set about designing a bespoke workstation that included sliding tops to access the upper mounted cable trays, which would connect to a shared cable tray, fed by magnetic cable spines. This solution, along with the use of Humanscale’s M8 dual monitor arms and CPU holders, enabled the workstations to have a virtually cable-free appearance.

The SoFi Mesh task chair from HÅG was chosen over a dozen different options from competitors - the SoFi’s ergonomic design, comfort and longevity were key aspects highlighted by the client that set it in a league of its own.

Being a law firm, the client had specific storage requirements including a bespoke personal storage solution to assist staff with a clear desk policy. After consultation with the client, the POS design team liaised with the Techo factory in Prague and produced 3D visuals and technical drawings of the proposed storage arrangements, so the client could see and customise the finished article, before an order was processed.

The installation commenced in November 2017 and was split into 3 phases to work around the main contractor's fit-out programme. Working to a tight timescale, the POS installation team ensured the installation went to plan, allowing the client to relocate to its new offices without disruption.
